We’re looking to recruit a talented and experienced Design Director for an independent retail design agency. Supporting their Creative Director, this role is client facing and will involve guiding/mentoring the team and overseeing creative output. We’re looking for a responsible, motivational team leader who is capable of driving projects from brief to delivery. Instinctive and decisive when giving creative direction. Down to earth, straight talking but tactful and sensitive to those around them. A conceptual thinker who can create robust strategic responses to client briefs. This is a hands on role that requires excellent design flair. You’ll need to be detail focused with a very good eye for typography and layout. You should have proven experience in a design or creative agency working on below the line, consumer focused design, particularly at in-store/shopper marketing level. You’ll require a good understanding of the retail design sector, brand development, strategy, retail language and communications. Tactical messaging and the importance of hierarchy of communication. We’re looking for someone with gravitas; a persuasive and believable communicator who will inspire confidence. Intelligent, creative and commercial in equal measures.
